Fairbreno Cold Liquid Batik Wax set
What is Batik?
Batik is a method of decorating textiles through dye resistance, in which designs are created by preventing specific parts of a textile from being exposed to the dye.
The traditional method of using Batik requires the use of melted hot wax with a mix of paraffin wax or beeswax and Tjanting/canting or copper block stamp. Once the fabric has been dyed, it needs to be dipped in boiling water to remove the wax.
Traditional Batik is an ancient art form with a long history dating back to the 4th century, often with a very elaborate designs and patterns. It is now used worldwide.
